Always Heart By Cat Confer

Using Distress™ Embossing Powders and Distress™ Ink, make this colorful heart wall hanging!

Instructions

(1) Ink the Hearts by the Dozen stamp with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

(2) Stamp the inked image on cream cardstock.

(3) Sprinkle two colors of Distress Powders on the damp ink, remembering to shake each container before opening to evenly mix the release crystals in the Distress Powders.

(4) Emboss the image with the Craft Tool; when cool rub the Distress Powders to remove the release crystals.

(5) Repeat Steps 1-4 at least four times, using various combinations of Distress Powders.

(6) With the square punch, punch out several squares from each embossed image. The hearts should be randomly punched, paying more attention to where the colors meet and mix then centering the heart image in the punched shape.

(7) Draw a heart shape onto a piece of chipboard and cut out.

(8) Coat the chipboard heart with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Sprinkle several colors of Distress Powders onto the heart, emboss and rub to distress.

(9) Stamp the word “always” from the Always Know stamp onto white chipboard with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Cut out the word in a shape that looks like a tiny tag.

(10) Now it’s time to distress EVERYTHING! Using a piece of Cut n’ Dry Foam, rub Antique Linen Distress Ink onto all of the elements: the punched squares, the cut heart, the Always tag and the entire background piece of chipboard (an entire 4½” x 6½” sheet of chipboard was used).

(11) Add darker tones of Distress Ink – Brushed Corduroy followed by Vintage Photo around the edges with the Cut n’ Dry Foam.

(12) Rub Distress inks onto the twill tape to age it as well, adding in a little color with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.

(13) Punch holes in the top of the chipboard base, embossed heart cut out and Always tag.

(14) Tie the tag to the heart with a small piece of thread.

(15) Adhere the squares to the chipboard base, tilting them slightly, and adhere the heart to the middle.

(16) Push the ends of the twill through the top holes and tie into knots.
