Instructions
Step 1: I began by gathering the supplies I needed. I found a blank page in my journal. I do not journal in chronological order. I tend to skip all over – that’s just my preference. I added Lapis paint to the entire page with a baby wipe to spread the paint in a very thin layer.
Step 2: Once the paint was dry, I scribbled within the Scales Stencil using a Twisted Citron Distress Crayon. I wasn’t very careful and didn’t fully scribble in every box.
Step 3: Using a baby wipe, I then carefully blended the Distress Crayon over the stencil. I wanted to ensure that the stencil didn’t shift so I took my time but was not concerned with the various thickness of each part of the stencil.
Step 4: I added paint to a 9”x11” Gel Plate one color at a time. I wanted my tip in to be shades of blue, very similar to an ombre look.
Step 5: I pressed a sheet of 4.25” x 5.5” Tim Holtz Woodgrain Cardstock face down on the gel plate.
Step 6: Using a Blending Tool, I added some Lime Green to the edges of the piece of the woodgrain cardstock.
I stamped one of the images from the Interesting Faces Set on to the cardstock and chose a saying from the collage sheet sets.
Step 7: Last minute I decided to stencil some lime green scales on to the cardstock. Then I glued the collage sheet words down with a glue stick.
Step 8: I stitched around the collage words and all around the edges of the cardstock for some added texture.
Step 9: I stamped a few stars from the grungy stars stamp set on to old music sheets and cut them out.
Step 10: Using the Dylusions Creative Dyary Tape I affixed the cardstock into the binding of the page. I used the tape both on the front as well as on the back of the tip in.
Step 11: I added the larger star to the tip in and a few smaller stars to the journal page with glue.
Step 12: Finally I used a Dylusions White Paint Pen and the Dylusions small journal block to add some journaling lines behind the tip in.
