Hi there crafty friends! It’s Cheiron Brandon here and I am back with a new project to share with you that is perfect for Mother’s Day! This card features the newest Back from the Vault Distress Paint colors to create a floral image that is stamped with a stamped positioner, painted over and then stamped again to keep those crisp lines. Then we will add a few techniques to give it just a bit of grunge.Â
Â
Â
Step 1: Gather your supplies, you will need Distress Paints in Wilted Violet, Crushed Olive, Lucky Clover, Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold, Wild Honey, and Black Soot. You will also need Distress Archival Ink in Black Soot, Distress Watercolor Cardstock, a Distress Sprayer, Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and Ranger Artist Brushes. For stamping I used the Tim Holtz Floral Trims and Note Quotes stamp. Â
Â
Step 2: Begin by painting 2 pieces of Distress Watercolor Cardstock with Tattered Rose Distress Paint and let dry or dry with a heat tool. I am not blending with water here, because I want the flat, matte look of the paint for my background. (Cardstock sizes 3 3/4 x 7 and 4 x 5 1/4).Â
Â
Step 3: Using a stamp positioner, line up your taller painted panel and stamp the floral image using Black Soot Distress Archival Ink. Be sure to line it up well, because we will be replacing this panel later and stamping over it. Â
 Â
Step 4: Begin to paint your panel, starting with the leaves. I used Crushed Olive and Lucky Clover and mixed them together with a bit of water from my Distress Sprayer. Let dry or dry with heat tool. Â
Â
Step 5: Continue painting the flowers using Wilted Violet and Spun Sugar. Let dry or dry with heat tool.Â
Â
Step 6: Paint in the flower centers with Wild Honey. Don’t worry if you cover up some of the detail, we will remedy in the next step! Make sure your panel is completely dry at this point. Â
Â
Â
Step 7:Â Put your panel back into the stamp positioner and then stamp with Black Soot Distress Archival Ink. Â
Â
Step 8: Stamp your second panel and just paint in the leaves (we will cover up the rest). Let dry or dry with heat tool. Â
Â
Â
Step 9: Cut the flowers and leaves from the first panel and adhere to the second panel using foam tape. Â
Â
Step 10: Paint a small piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock for your sentiment using Tattered Rose Distress Paint. Once dry, stamp the sentiment from Note Quotes then cut it out. Set aside.Â
Â
Step 11: Add some splatter to the entire card using Black Soot Distress Paint. Let dry or dry with heat tool. Â
Â
Step 12: Complete the card by distressing and inking the edges of the panel and sentiment with Black Soot Archival Distress, adhering the panel to a card base, then adhering the sentiment. Â
Â
I hope you had fun joining me to play with paint. I love to combine stamps with my Distress Paints, and it’s even more fun when some of my favorite colors have returned back from the vault! Â
