Hello again friends! I’m back with another bright and fun journal page inspired by music from everyone’s favorite decade. Follow along with me to create a funky and abstract ode to squares using Dylusions brilliant new stamp sets!

Step 1: Open your Dylusions Large Ledger Journal to a lined page and use the Black Marble Paint Pen to scribble down your thoughts while avoiding the center panel.

Step 2: Lightly mist the page with water then spray puddles of Dylusions Ink Spray in Blue Lagoon, Funky Fuchsia, Crushed Grape, and White linen. Close the journal, re-open, and use a paper towel roll to blot excess ink off your page. 

Step 3: Use the Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply White Linen paint through the Small Street Map Stencil. Move the stencil around the page to create a textured background.

Step 4: Trace the curved edge of the Long Journal Stamp Block with the Black Paint Pen to create a border around your page. Color in the edges with Dylusions Black Marble Paint using the #6 brush.

Step 5: Complete your border by drawing dots around it with the White Linen Paint Pen.

Step 6: Tear a blank sheet out of your journal. Paint stripes on the paper with Tropical Sangria, Vibrant Turquoise, and Periwinkle using a ¾ brush.

Step 7: Using stamps from the Get Your Rocks On set and Dylusions Archival Inks in Bubblegum Pink, Vibrant Turquoise, and London Blue, stamp your painted paper as shown.

Step 8: Using the squares and lines stamps from the Funny Bunny set, stamp squares of all sizes onto your page in Black Marble Archival Ink.

Step 9: Cut out all the squares. Arrange their layout and glue them on using Dylusions Mini Glue Stick. (You don’t have to use all of the squares.)

Step 10: Write out the song lyrics “It’s hip to be square” with the Black Paint Pen. Add dot detailing to the letters and squares with the White Paint Pen.

Step 11: Lastly, add a touch of sparkle to a few random squares with Dylusions Stickles in Stardust. Your journal page is complete!
