Some of our Ranger customers have returned product to us and they will often use the same packaging that their order comes in. I have saved some of the padded envelopes that we have gotten back. I thought they would make a cool soft-bound junk journal.

Step 1: To create the recycled journal cover, you'll want to use a Ranger bubble mailer that you've received product in.   

Step 2: Cut the large envelope and open it to make a larger surface. I didn’t want to cover up the logos so I let the design stand.

Step 3: I didn’t want to show the raw edge, so I painted Dina Wakley MEdia Stickyback Canvas Tape with Dylusions Postbox Red Paint and used it to seal the edges.

Step 4: We all have scrap pieces of paper that we have inked, painted, smeared, or collaged on. To create the inside of the journal, I gathered some papers that I had lying around. 

Step 5: I also had some old calendars with pages that looked like they needed some jazzing up. So I will use a variety of inks and mediums on them. 

Step 6: Use Dylusions Ink Sprays to add some color to a few calendar pages.

Step 7: For these pages, I applied Distress Texture Paste using the Dina Wakley Media Cross Hatch stencil and Midnight Snack Lunar Paste with a Dylusions stencil.

Step 8: Cut your pages to different sizes.  

Step 9: Gather and sew them into one signature with the cover. I used string and a needle to punch three holes through all of the pages and made a knot with the string in the middle of the journal. 

Step 10: I trimmed some of the pages that were hanging off, but otherwise, I don’t mind the different sized pages.
