Letter It™ Hello Sunshine Card by Laura Volpes

Follow along as Laura Volpes shows you how to make a glistening ocean scene with Distress Inks, Perfect Pearls & Letter It to create this dazzling card.

Instructions

 

Letter It Hello Sunshine Card Step 1

Step 1:  Stamp the sentiment from the Hello Sunshine Stamp Set on Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock. Use Letter It™ Embossing Ink and heat emboss with Fine White Embossing Powder.Ink blend Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed,  Carved Pumpkin and  Fired Brick to create a sunset.

Step 2: Ink blend Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Prize Ribbon on a separate panel of  Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock.

Step 3: Lay the Organic Stripes stencil over the panel and spritz with water. Blot off the excess. This will help create the look of water.

 

 

 

 Letter It Hello Sunshine Card Step 4

Step 4: Add droplets to the two panels by diluting Perfect Pearls with water. Use the color Perfect Pearl on the ocean and for the sky use both the colors Perfect Pearl and Perfect Gold.

Step 5: Tear the ocean panel to obtain two strips. Make sure to leave a white edge on the strips as that will mimic the look of seafoam.

 

 

Letter It Hello Sunshine Card Step 6

Step 6: Glue everything to an A2 sized card base. Add some water to the sun with a paintbrush and dry off the excess water and pigment. This will lighten up the sun and make it stand out more from the background.
