Instructions

I love the GAL-entine's Day and GAL-oween trends; because it's impossible, in my opinion, to over-estimate how important our closest friends are in our lives!

Step 1: Gather Materials: Perfect Pearls in Forever Blue, Blue Hydrangea, Blue Patina and Perfect Gold; Perfect Pearls Medium and Brushes; Ranger Mister filled with clear water; Simon Hurley create Brick Background Stamp, Beautiful Blooms and Butterfly Kisses Photopolymer Stamp Sets; Archival Inks in Graphite and Jet Black; Black, White and Grey cardstock. Ranger Emboss It Clear Embossing Ink plus Black and White Embossing Powders; Dina Wakley Chipboard Shapes- The Women.

Step 2: Apply Perfect Medium to Simon Hurley's Brick Background and stamp on a 4.25 x 5.5" panel of Letter It Grey Cardstock. Use a soft, clean brush to generously apply Forever Blue Perfect Pearls to the image. Tap off the unused powder and return to the container. Lightly mist the panel with plain water to set the pigment powder. Set aside and allow to dry completely.

Step 3: Re-apply Perfect Medium to the Brick Background and stamp on a 5.5" square panel of Simon Hurley create Stark White Cardstock. Use a soft, clean brush to generously apply Blue Hydrangea Perfect Pearls to the image. Tap off the unused powder and return to the container. Lightly mist the panel with plain water to set the pigment powder. Set aside and allow to dry completely.

Step 4: Stamp the cornflowers from Simon Hurley's Beautiful Blooms set in Emboss It Clear Embossing Ink on Matte Black Alcohol Ink Cardstock and sprinkle with White Embossing Powder. Return excess powder to jar and use a small angled brush to remove any stray flecks, if necessary. Melt the powder with the Ranger Heat It Craft Tool. Allow the image to cool completely before proceeding.

Step 5: On a palette or your craft sheet, mix a small amount of Forever Blue and Blue Patina Perfect Pearls with a few drops of clean water. Use a small clean brush to paint the flowers from Step 4 with the Perfect Pearls. Set aside and allow to dry completely before cutting out the flowers using the coordinating die or scissors.

Step 6: Stamp the large butterfly outline from Simon Hurley's Butterfly Kisses set in Emboss It Clear Embossing Ink on a scrap of white cardstock and emboss with Black Embossing Powder. Allow the image to cool completely before proceeding. On a palette or your craft sheet, mix a small amount of Forever Blue and Blue Patina Perfect Pearls with a few drops of clean water. Paint the butterfly with the Perfect Pearls, placing the Blue Patina at the top and the Forever Blue at the bottom of the butterfly, allowing the two shades to mix in the middle. Set aside and allow to dry completely before cutting out the butterfly using the coordinating die or scissors.

Step 7: Load a large acrylic block with GAL-entine sentiments from the Beautiful Blooms and Butterfly Kisses Stamp Sets. Ink with Jet Black Archival and stamp on one of Dina Wakley MEdia's Chipboard Women. Reposition as necessary to fill the entire figure.

Step 8: Stamp "Spread your wings and FLY" from the Butterfly Kisses set in Jet Black Archival on a scrap of white cardstock. Trim into a neat flag.

Step 9: On a palette or your craft sheet, mix a small amount of Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls with clean water. Use a medium sized brush to splatter the gold on both brick panels as well as the flowers and butterfly. Set aside and allow to dry completely.

Step 10: Assembly: Lightly ink around the edges of the two brick panels with Charcoal Archival, if desired. Adhere the white brick panel to a white folded 6" square card. Back the blue and grey brick panel with a thin mat of white cardstock. Add the flowers, woman and butterfly, to the blue and grey brick panel as pictured and adhere the sentiment flag on top. Add the completed design panel to the square card with the panel extending a bit over the top edge.

Step 11: Sign your card, add a personal note, and send it to your bestie for GAL-entine's Day!
