Simon Hurley create. Solar Spray Card by Cassie Trask

Shine bright with this shimmering floral card by Cassie Trask! In this tutorial, she uses the latest Simon Hurley create. Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set along with Solar Sprays in Golden Hour & Crocodile Tears to add intense, pearlescent shimmer to black cardstock. The result? A bold, eye-catching background that makes those yellow florals pop!

Instructions

Hi friends, for today’s card I was very excited to use the new Solar Sprays! They look so incredible on black cardstock, but I highly encourage you to play around with other dark cardstocks to see what you get. You won’t be disappointed! Let’s get started with our card.

Step 1: Trim a piece of black cardstock down to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and spray some Golden Hour Solar Spray through one of the stencils from the Geo Circle Stencils. Let that air dry or heat set it.

Step 2: Spray Crocodile Tears Solar Spray through the other stencil from the Geo Circle Stencils.  Let that air dry or heat set it.

Step 3: Stamp two of the outline flowers from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set onto Stark White Cardstock using black ink.

Step 4: Stamp over those flowers with the solid images from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp using a combination of Shooting Star ink and Slippery When Wet ink.

Step 5: Stamp your sentiment onto a long piece of Stark White Cardstock using black ink.

Step 6: Trim down your sentiment using a paper trimmer, and use your die cuts to die cut the flowers.

Step 7: Cut a card base from Stark White Cardstock to the size of 5 ½” x 8 ½” and score that at 4 ¼” to make your card base. Trim your stenciled background to 4” x 5 ¼”.

Step 8: Assemble your card together.
