I love that Distress Ink is so versatile that you can achieve SO many different looks with it.  Today we are going to be doing a resist type of technique.

Lay your stencil down across a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper cut to 4 x 5 1/4.

Carefully tool dab embossing ink into the openings of the stencil using an Emboss It Dabber.  You really want to make sure and dab don’t wipe or it will seep under the stencil.  Remove the stencil and cover with Ranger’s Clear Embossing Powder.

Heat the embossing powder to melt it.  You will notice it goes from a very matte kind of sandy look to a very glossy look.

Swipe Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto your Non Stick Craft Sheet.  Spritz with water using a Mister. You will want to see Raindrops of color.

Lightly Mist your embossed card with water to help the flow.  Pick up the ink with a paint brush.  Brush the color onto the cardstock over the embossed area on the card.  You will notice that where it is embossed it resists the ink.

Die cut out two feathers using Ranger’s Watercolor Paper using the Tim Holtz Feather Duo Die and Texture Fade set.  Apply color to the feathers like you did with the cardstock.  Dry with a Heat It Craft Tool.  Lightly add some Gathered Twig Distress Ink using a blending tool to the feathers.  This will help give the feathers some definition.

You will also want to dye some Crinkle Ribbon with Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers.  Smear some ink onto your craft sheet, spritz with water and swipe your ribbon through the puddle of color then heat until dry.

Stamp a sentiment on a piece of Mixed Media paper.  Blend a mixture of Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks onto the piece.  Lightly edge the cardstock with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.
