Instructions

Winter Scene Card Step 1

Step 1:  Work on the images. Stamp the tree branch from the Autumn Greetings stamp set and the candles from the Warm Wishes stamp sets on Tim Holtz Distress® Watercolor Cardstock. Use Archival Ink in Black Soot and watercolor the images using Wendy Vecchi Blendable Dye Inks.

For the bird in the Autumn Greetings stamp set, stamp the image with Archival Ink in Hickory Smoke. Stamp the belly with Red Geranium Ink by Wendy Vecchi and add line details with a Black Fineliner.

Winter Scene Card Step 2

Step 2:  Trim a  Perfect Cardstock White Panel to 3.5 x 5". Create a window by cutting four rectangles from the panel. Use a craft knife and ruler or a small rectangular die.

Winter Scene Card Step 3

Step 3: Back the window with some acetate for a more realistic look.

Winter Scene Card Step 4

Step 4: Create your winter sky with Vecchi  Dye Inks. Blend the inks with Tim Holtz Distress® Blending Brushes for a softer look. For this card, the following colors were used: Watering Can, Bluebird, Garden Patina, and Pink Peony.

Winter Scene Card Step 5

Step 5:  Create a snowfall with White Media Gloss Spray by Dina Wakley. For more control, remove the nozzle and tap on it, rather than spraying on the panel directly.

Winter Scene Card Step 6

Step 6:  Heat emboss your sentiment with White Embossing Powder over a strip of Black Cardstock. Use Fine Detail Powder for a cleaner result.

Winter Scene Card Step 7

Step 7:  Adhere everything to a  Perfect Cardstock Grey Panel, making sure to glue the robin and the tree branch behind the window.
