In the Arizona desert, the only way I get to see colorful Fall leaves is if I make them. Did you know you can use Dina Wakley Media acrylic colors to get beautiful earthy, Fall hues? Here’s what I did:

Step 1: Use a Mini Ink Blending Tool, White paint, and the Almost Ikat stencil to apply a white stenciling onto a sheet of 8x5x11 Watercolor Cardstock. When the white stenciling is dry, brush on a combination of these colors: Fuchsia and Cheddar (together they make a pretty rust color), Ruby, and a dash of Evergreen. Let the piece dry.

Step 2: Stamp leaves from the Scribbly Leaves and Pods set with Jet Black Archival onto the colorful background. Cut out your amazing Fall leaves. Grab a size 8 Kraft tag and use Gilt paint, a Mini Blending Tool, and the Almost Ikat stencil to apply gold stenciling all over the tag. Fold the tag so it makes a little tag book. I don’t ever measure this, I just guess.

Step 3: Staple some paper into the fold so you have a little book. I used graph paper.

Step 4: Decorate the book with your leaves. I also used a piece of a tag that I had painted with Turquoise dots from the Spaced Dots stencil and some Dina Wakley Media printed tape to add interest behind the leaves.

Step 5: Paint a piece of crinkle ribbon with Turquoise paint. When it’s dry, you can use it to close your booklet.
