Instructions

Step 1: Apply Distress Collage Medium Matte over a 7” x 9½” board and apply a piece of Dina Wakley Cotton Watercolor Paper of the same size, tearing the edges of the paper to give an uneven appearance along the border. Use a brayer to remove any air bubbles and smooth the surface.

Step 2: Stamp Handwritten twice to cover the right side of the covered board using Watering Can Archival Ink. Brush White Gesso over the unstamped left side. Scrape Elephant Acrylic Paint over the gesso with the palette knife. When dry, scrape Eggplant and more Elephant Acrylic Paint over the same area.

Step 3: Tear a 4½” x 8” sized piece from the remaining Cotton Watercolor Paper. Stamp Ticking using Thistle Archival Ink twice to cover the paper.

Step 4: Glue the Ticking stamped paper onto the background with Perfect Card Adhesive. Apply Texture Paste through the Old Ledger Stencil to cover the right side of the of the background.

Step 5: Stamp Botanical Register onto a Perfect Cardstock Grey Panel using Watering Can Archival Ink. Tear away the excess panel at the top and bottom.

Step 6: Tear a 4½” x 6” sized piece from the remaining Cotton Watercolor Paper. Repeat stamp Freshly Picked using Prickly Pear Archival Ink across the paper. Blend the same ink all over the paper using the Mini Blending Tool.

Step 7: Stamp Rectangle Collage onto Perfect Cardstock White Panel using Peat Moss Archival Ink before cutting around the edges. Stamp Freshly Picked into the center of the rectangle using Watering Can Archival Ink. Place the matching stencil over the image before using a Detail Blending Tool to apply Poppy Archival Ink over the shaded areas of the daffodil. Keeping the stencil in place, blend Sunflower Archival Ink over the whole daffodil.

Step 8: With the stencil in place over each matching area of the stamped image, apply Fern Green Archival Ink to the shaded areas of the leaves before blending Prickly Pear Archival Ink over the top using the same tools as in Step 7. Repeat this process for the small flowers using Cactus Flower Archival Ink in the center of each and Violet Archival Ink over the top.

Step 9: Add dimension to the flowers by re-stamping them onto the remaining piece of Perfect Cardstock White Panel, coloring as described above and cutting them out. After shaping these flower pieces use Distress Collage Medium Matte to stick them onto the panel over the coordinating images. Add dots of Cactus Flower Enamel Accents to the rectangle.

Step 10: From the remaining Cotton Watercolor Paper cut a piece slightly larger than the stamped rectangle (just over 4¼” x 3¾”) blending Sunflower Archival Ink along the edges before gluing to the back as a mat.

Step 11: From the final remaining piece of Cotton Watercolor Paper tear a piece 1”½ x 3¾” and cover in a layer of Elephant Acrylic Paint diluted with water. Stamp Freshly Picked over the dry paint using Thistle Archival Ink.

Step 12: Tear the stamped paper from Step 11 in half and glue to the background using Perfect Card Adhesive where shown in the photo. Place the Botanical Register stamped Grey Panel over the Prickly Pear stamped paper and stitch together.

Step 13: Glue the Botanical Register layered panel onto the background. Mix a few drops of Fern Green Archival Reinker with Texture Paste. Apply through the Ferns stencil to form a border for the main floral rectangle panel. To finish add an Index Clip to the top left corner of the main floral rectangle before sticking it onto the completed background. Finally stamp the sentiment from the Framed Art stamp set using Thistle Archival Ink onto a small piece of white card and glue in place on top of the main panel.
