Instructions

Hi there! It’s Cheiron Brandon and I am back with another fun tutorial using Tim Holtz Distress products. I am so happy to have new colors of Distress Embossing Glazes to play with and love the newest colors for fall and winter. I wanted to combine them together today along with some other favorite colors to make a non-traditional colored leaf card that is perfect for fall.

Step 1: Gather your supplies. I used the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Nature’s Wonder, Distress Embossing Glazes in Evergreen Bough, Tumbled Glass, Frayed Burlap, Mustard Seed, Shaded Lilac, Dried Marigold and Kitsch Flamingo.

Step 2: Start by cutting a panel of Distress Watercolor Cardstock, then prepping it by wiping an anti-static pouch over the cardstock before stamping and embossing. Note: I cut my cardstock a bit bigger and trimmed to fit my card at the end.

Step 3: Stamp your first leaf in the same color of Distress Oxide as the Distress Embossing Glaze you are going to use. In this case I used Kitsch Flamingo Oxide and Glaze.

Step 4: Add the embossing powder, tap off the excess and heat set.

Step 5: Continue stamping the leaves in oxide and embossing with Distress Embossing Glaze, one leaf /color at a time until you have filled the panel.

Step 6: Once the panel is completed, go over the panel with Antique Linen Distress Ink and a foam blending tool.

Step 7: Also get a strip of Distress Watercolor Cardstock to use for a sentiment strip and go over it with Antique Linen Distress ink (we want our sentiment strip to match the rest of the card).

Step 8: Stamp the sentiment using Ground Espresso Distress Archival Ink.

Step 12: To create splatter, take some Black Soot Distress paint and mix with water.

Step 13: Splatter paint onto panel using a paintbrush (I masked off my sentiment). Let dry or dry with heat tool.

I hope you try creating some fun leaves with Distress Embossing Glaze with some of your favorite Distress color combinations. They are the perfect touch for adding texture and shine to your fall cards!
