Hello there crafty friends! It’s Cheiron Brandon and I have a new tutorial to create some Abstract Thank You notes with a winter vibe. These feature Distress Paint, Tim Holtz Brushstrokes stamps and a bit of Foundry Wax. I am not sure about you, but I know after Christmas I will need a few thank you notes, and it’s always great to have them on hand. I designed these notes to be easy to recreate multiples while you have all your supplies out. For this project I cut one sheet of paper into 4 panels and just made 4 thank you notes at once, you could make 8, 12 or more.  
 

Step 1: Gather your supplies: I used Distress paints in Iced Spruce, Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans, Hickory Smoke and Evergreen Bough. I also used panels of Distress Watercolor Cardstock, Sterling Foundry Wax, and Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Brushstrokes and Simple Sayings stamps.  

Step 2: To begin, place your panels onto your work surface and stamp the thank you sentiment from the Simple Saying stamps using Distress Archival Ink in Black Soot.  

Step 3: Apply paint to your brushstroke stamp by dabbing a foam dauber into the paint then applying to the stamp. 

Step 4: Stamp your brushstroke onto each panel with Evergreen Bough, reapplying the paint to the stamp each time. Clean stamp while paint is wet, let dry with a heat tool. Repeat with the Iced Spruce.  

Step 5: Stamp your brushstroke onto each panel with Faded Jeans reapplying the paint to the stamp each time. Clean stamp while paint is wet, let dry with a heat tool. 

Step 6: Stamp your brushstroke onto each panel with Dusty Concord, reapplying the paint to the stamp each time. Clean stamp while paint is wet, let dry with a heat tool. 
 

Step 7: Stamp your brushstroke onto each panel with Hickory Smoke, reapplying the paint to the stamp each time. Clean stamp while paint is wet, let dry with a heat tool. 

Step 8: Now it’s time to add some foundry wax splatter, but before we do that cover each sentiment on your card with stamp masking tape or a small piece of scrap paper so the wax does not cover the sentiment.  

Step 9: Add a few drops of Sterling Foundry Wax to your glass mat or work surface. Mix with a few drops of isopropyl alcohol.    

Step 10: Use a paintbrush to spatter the wax/alcohol mixture onto your card fronts. 

Step 11: Use an embossing gun to set the wax, you will see it turn color and start to shine.
