Archival Ink & Stickles Ornaments by Lauren Bergold

Get ready to shine this holiday season! Follow along as Lauren Bergold transforms festive Dyamond boards like trees, stars, and baubles into dazzling ornaments. Using Letter It stamps, stencils, Archival Inks, and Stickles Glitter Gels, she layers colors and shimmer to create one-of-a-kind decorations. Perfect for garlands, place settings, gift tags, and more.

Instructions

I love decorating for the holidays nearly as much as I love giving handmade gifts to family and friends. This trio of vivid, sparkly ornaments are a hit on both counts and so much fun to make!

Step 1: Place Letter It's Polka Dotting Stencil over a Large Star Dyamond Board and apply Ranger Sun Dazed Archival Ink through the circles. Optional: Leave the stencil in place and outline all of the dots with a black Letter It Fineliner.

Step 2: With the stencil still in place, apply Starshine Stickles Glitter Gel. When finished, set the Dyamond Board aside and allow to dry completely; ideally overnight. Wash the stencil and applicator immediately with warm water and dish soap.

Step 3: Use a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Domed Foam to apply a light coat of Vibrant Fuchsia Archival to a Small Tree Dyamond Board. Position Simon Hurley's Tiny Hearts Stencil over the tree and apply Wine Cellar Archival Ink. If outlining, complete that step now.

Step 4: With the stencil still in place, apply Mars Stickles Glitter Gel. Set the Dyamond Board aside and allow it to dry completely.

Step 5: Arrange the stamps from Letter It's Christmas Clear Stamp Set on a large acrylic stamping block so that they will cover the surface of a Large Bauble Dyamond Board without overlapping. Stamp with Emboss It Clear Embossing Ink and sprinkle with Ranger White Embossing Powder. Tap off the excess and return it to the jar. Melt the powder with the Heat It Craft Tool. Allow the embossed areas to cool completely before proceeding.

Step 6: Use a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Domed Foam to apply Beach Cruiser Archival all over the white embossed Dyamond Board. Set aside.

Step 7: Arrange Letter It's Puzzled Mosaic Stencil over a Small Star Dyamond Board and apply Sun Dazed Archival through the stencil. If outlining the shapes, complete that step now.

Step 8: With the stencil still in place, apply Moon Dust Stickles Glitter Gel. Set the Dyamond Board aside and allow it to dry completely.

Step 9: Place Letter It's Alternating Chevron Stencil over a Large Bauble Dyamond Board and apply Sea Grass Archival through the stencil. If outlining the shapes, do so before proceeding.

Step 10: Shift the stencil so that the Sea Grass chevrons are covered and apply Moon Dust Stickles Glitter Gel to the un-stenciled areas. Set the bauble aside and allow to dry completely.

Step 11: With a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Domed Foam, lightly apply Aquamarine Archival all over a Small Tree Dyamond Board. Then cover the tree with the stencil of largest flowers from Simon Hurley's In Bloom Stencil Set and apply Beach Cruiser Archival. If outlining, do so at this stage.

Step 12: Place the stencil with the smallest flowers from the In Bloom Stencil Set directly over the inked flowers and apply Galaxy Stickles Glitter Gel. Set aside and allow to dry.

Step 13: Assembly: Add Letter It Foam Roll Tape to the backs of the three small shapes. Affix the pink tree to the large star; the yellow star to the blue bauble; and the blue tree to the chevron bauble. Attach white cord hangers through the pre-punched holes and, if desired, add a decorative bow. (Note that Ranger Archival Inks stamp beautifully on cotton ribbon!)

Step 14: Optional: Use the same stencils and inks to add a little bit of coordinating pattern to plain giftbags (or solid colored giftwrap) and attach the ornaments with mounting putty for a uniquely colorful presentation!
