Instructions 

It’s time to break out your gelli plate, brayer, and your favorite Dina Wakley MEdia stencils. Let’s have a gelli printing party with transparencies!

Step 1: In random areas on the gel plate, apply two colors of acrylic paint. Here, Malachite and White were used. Spread the paint around the plate with a brayer. 

Step 2: Place a stencil on the gel plate, lay a clear transparency over it, and press down, pulling a print of the stencil. Remove the stencil from the plate, and press the transparency onto the plate again, picking up more paint, texture, and design. 

Step 3: Play! Try out different color combinations and stencils, and even play with some of the printed transparencies. Some of my favorite color combinations are Mustard & Raspberry, Raspberry & Cocoa, and Malachite & Sapphire.

Step 4: Now let’s make a journal page! With a paint brush, spread some Malachite and White into the Large Kraft Journal. 

Step 5: Layer over the painted page with transparencies. The background will show through any areas of the transparency that are not painted. Attach with a stapler.

Step 6:  With a paint marker, add some journaling to the transparencies. Notice the dimensional look from all the transparent layers!

Step 7: Using Ultra Thick Gel Medium, add focal images and phrases. Add splatters with a shimmery gloss.
