Tis the season to be thankful, which became the inspiration behind this mixed media art journal page by Megan Whisner Quinlan. Follow along as she shares how she uses Dina Wakley MEdia Stamps and Gloss Sprays to piece together an autumn spread.

Instructions

Sometimes it is good to pause and remember to be thankful, especially this time of year. The fall colors play a big part in inspiration for this project. Follow along to learn how to make a Thankful Wreath with the new Dina Wakley release, to use on your art journal pages.

Thankful Wreath Step 1

Step 1: Stamp both of the branches and circles from the Dina Wakley Media Be Willing cling stamp set onto red and kraft cardstock with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink.

Thankful Wreath Step 2

Step 2: Spray a piece of white cardstock with Dina Wakley MEdia Gloss Sprays in Olive, Gilt, and Sand.  Allow the sprays to really saturate and mix on the page creating a unique resist. Allow to dry thoroughly.

Thankful Wreath Step 3

Step 3: Cut out your shapes out. Set aside.

Thankful Wreath Step 4

Step 4: Stamp the faces and your chosen text from the Dina Wakley MEdia Better Together cling stamp set onto your acrylic sprayed page with Archival Jet Black Ink. Cut out faces and text. Burnish around the edges of your text for more depth. Thankful Wreath Step 5

Step 5: Spray around the edges of your journal page with Gilt and Medieval Gloss Sprays around the edges to create some contrast for your wreath.

Thankful Wreath Step 6

Step 6: Arrange your branches in an oval around the page and glue down with Dina Wakley MEdia Ultra Thick Gel Medium. Place your faces and glue down next. Add your circles and text and glue them down last.
