Instructions

BeesWax Batik Technique
(1)
Cut out a 4″ square in the center of the Ceiling Tin paper.

(2) Turn on Melting Pot with Project Pan and move thermostat to UTEE setting. Pour in Natural BeesWax Pellets and place lid to allow BeesWax to completely melt.

(3) To create a resist on the paper, brush melted BeesWax onto portions of the Ceiling Tin Paper to “protect” chosen areas of paper, creating a design. Let cool and solidify.

(4) Make a watercolor paint with Dimensional Pearls by squeezing a quarter size puddle of paint on the Non-Stick Craft Sheet and adding water with the Mini Mister until a watercolor consistency is achieved. Note: make the paint thin enough, like a wash. If too thick, it could iron off.

(5) Brush paint onto Ceiling Tin square; let dry.

(6) Preheat craft iron to the highest setting.

(7) Place paper on Craft Sheet with the painted side facing up. Place blank newsprint on top of paper and use craft iron to melt off beeswax, revealing the original paper pattern.

Clock
(1)
Paint canvas with Aqua Dabber. Highlight edges of canvas with Pool and Raspberry Dabbers. Let dry.

(2) Paint brass tacks, clock hands, screws and nuts with Snow Cap Dabber.

(3) Outline clock hands with Wild Plum Dimensional Pearls. When dry, add some Crystal Ice Stickles to hands and set aside to dry.

(4) Glue “batik” square in center of canvas with Matte Gel Medium.

(5) Paint Flourish Stamp with Snow Cap Dabber and stamp image in opposite corners of canvas. Highlight with Star Dust Stickles to the four corners by spreading it on with your fingertip. Let dry.

(6) Emboss clock face on heat-resistant acetate sheet using Distress Embossing Ink and Seafoam White Embossing Powder. Cut out clock face leaving 1/8” border around image.

(7) With a craft knife, cut holes in the center of acetate and canvas the size of the clock movement shaft.

(8) Glue down eyelet ribbon to all four sides of the canvas with Trio Adhesive.

(9) Cut two 18″ lengths of 7/8″ ribbon and attach to both sides of the canvas ½” from the top with painted brass tacks, leaving 4” of ribbon below the tack.

(10) Tie a bow with loose ends of ribbon over the top of the canvas to create a decorative “hanger”. Attach flower to bow with wire stem. Trim ribbon ends by cutting an upside down “V” to make a decorative edge.

(11) Glue beaded trim to bottom of canvas with Trio Adhesive.

(12) Hammer in remaining brass tacks evenly around the canvas edges; use 5 each on the top and bottom, and 2 more on each side (for a total of 3 per side).

(13) Display on easel or hang on the wall!
