Instructions 

My love affair with Liquid Pearls kicked into high gear when Ranger's Patti Behan pointed out that they are, essentially, shimmery acrylic paint. Thanks to the clever airtight dispenser bottle, they can be used dimensionally; but you can also apply them with a brush or an ink blending tool for even more variety!

Step 1: Place Stencil 1 from the Simon Hurley create Polka Dot Assortment Stencil Set over a 5.25 x 4" piece of white Letter It Cardstock and use the magnets to secure it to Wendy Venchi's MAKE ART Stay-tion. Use the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply a light coat of Beach Cruiser Archival Ink through the stencil. When finished, use an alcohol wipe to remove any excess Archival Ink.

Step 2: Place Stencil 2 from the Polka Dot Assortment set over the panel from Step 1, positioning it so that the dots are spaced evenly between the ones already applied. Apply a light coat of Sea Grass Archival through the stencil.

Step 3: Place Stencil 4 from the Polka Dot Assortment set over the pale green dots from Step 2 and use a clean Domed Foam to apply a sparing amount of Mermaid Liquid Pearls. You're going for shimmery color here, rather than dimension, so take care to keep the stencil nice and flat. Set the panel aside and allow to dry completely. Meanwhile, promptly clean the stencil by placing it on a paper towel, spritzing it generously with Isopropyl Alcohol, and gently rubbing off the excess Liquid Pearls.

Step 4: Position Stencil 4 from the Polka Dot Assortment set over the blue dots from Step 1 and apply a minimal amount of Bahama Blue Liquid Pearls. Set the panel aside and allow dry completely. Clean the stencil promptly, using the method from Step 3.

Step 5: On a new panel of white Letter It Cardstock, use a Mini Ink Blending tool to apply Seafarer Archival through Dina Wakley's Coaster 4 Stencil. Note that to fill a 5.25 x 4" panel, you'll need to carefully remove and reposition the stencil.

Step 6: Using Succulent Liquid Pearls, apply a small round dimensional dot in the white space between the pattern stenciled in Step 5. You might like to practice first on a scrap of cardstock, so that you are able to form small dots of approximately the same size. By securing the panel to the MAKE ART Stay-tion with all four magnets, you'll be able to give the board a good tap against the table at the end, to ensure your dots are rounded rather than pointy at the tops. Set the finished panel aside on a flat surface and allow the Liquid Pearls to dry completely. Note that dimensional dots take longer to dry than a thin coat applied with the sponge applicator. If you save your "practice" dots, you can use them to test for dryness, rather than risking a smear to your finished panel.

Step 7: On a new panel of Letter It Cardstock, apply Succulent Liquid Pearls sparingly through Dina Wakley's Coaster Stencil 3. Again, you'll need to move the stencil to cover the entire panel. If you've applied a thin coat, the Pearls should be dry enough to move the stencil immediately; but if they're wet to the touch, set the panel aside and wait for it to dry. When finished, clean the stencil with rubbing alcohol.

Step 8: When the panel from Step 7 is completely dry, place Letter It's Polka Dotting stencil over top, secure it firmly with the Stay-tion's magnets, and apply a very light coat of Mermaid Liquid Pearls with the Mini Ink Blending Tool. Note that by using a soft color and applying a light coat of the Pearls, the pattern from Step 7 will act as a resist and you'll be able to see some of it through the new color. Remove and clean the stencil immediately. Allow the panel to dry before proceeding.

Step 9: When the panel from Step 8 is completely dry, place Stencil 2 from Simon Hurley's In Bloom Stencil Set on top, positioning it so the flowers are spaced pleasingly in relation to the large polka dots. Apply a nice dark coat of Cobalt Archival.

Step 10: Next apply a very light coat of Beach Cruiser Archival through Dina Wakley's Coaster 1 Stencil. You will need to reposition it once to cover the entire panel.

Step 11: Using White Opal Liquid Pearls, apply a round raised dot of approximately 1/8" diameter to the center of each Cobalt flower. Again, you might like to practice on scrap paper or on your Craft Sheet, until you get the hang of making dots of a consistent size and shape. Alternatively, you can make the dots on the Stickles Confetti Template, (available on the Ranger Website: https://www.rangerindu.com/blogs/projects/stickles-confetti) allow them to dry overnight, then peel them from the template and affix them to the flower centers with a drop of Perfect Card Adhesive.

Step 12: Stamp the large leaf cluster from Simon Hurley's create Leaf Prints Cling Stamp Set in Sea Grass Archival. If desired, lightly re-ink the lower half of each leaf with Library Green Archival, tap gently with a Mini Ink Blending Tool to erase any hard lines from the ink pad, and use the Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Perfect Stamp Positioner Set to re-stamp. Use a Black .01 Letter It Fineliner to outline the leaves and add veins, if desired. Then neatly cut out with scissors leaving a small border of white all around.

Step 13: Stamp "Hooray" and "You Did It" from Letter It's Celebration Clear Stamp Set in Cobalt Archival. Cut out around "Hooray" with scissors, and trim "You Did It" into a neat strip.

Step 14: Assembly: Cut the three finished pattern panels into a wedge shape that stops about .75" from the bottom edge and approximately 3" on the top edge. Then trim the remaining pieces horizontally so that one is about 1.5" tall and the other around 2.25"; note that both will have the corresponding slanted edge from where you made the first cut. Now, reassemble the pieces so that your new panel is composed of one piece each of all three patterns. Secure with tape on the back. Trim the outside edges so that your new composite panel measures 3.75 x 5". Mat it on a 4 x 5.25" piece of white Letter It Cardstock which has been generously inked in Cobalt around all four sides. Affix to a white A2 card with Perfect Card Adhesive. Add the leafy branch and sentiment as pictured, using small slivers of Letter It Black Foam Roll Tape.

Step 15: OPTIONAL: Take the leftover wedge-shape pieces from Step 14 and assemble them to make two additional panels. Use coordinating inks to stamp a few extra sentiments using Letter It's Celebration Clear Stamp Set; and a few extra sprigs from Simon Hurley's Leaf Prints Cling Set and you'll have a set of three coordinated cards to send to friends and family in celebration of triumphs large or small.
