Hello crafty friends! I have spent most of my summer creating Christmas cards and I have loved it! Today I’m excited to share with you another card tutorial using the Paint Swatches stamps set to create a snow globe for one of the cute snowmen from the Sketched Snowmen stamp set. I hope today’s tutorial gives you inspiration to do something fun and creative today!
Step 1: Begin by creating an A2 card base out of Stark White card stock by trimming an 8½” x 11” piece of cardstock at 5 ½” and then scoring it at 4 ¼”. Next, trim a front panel measuring about 4” x 5 1/4” out of Stark White cardstock.
Step 2: Ink the round stamp from the Paint Swatches stamp set with Breakup Blue and use the Mister to spray a bit of water on the stamp. Then, stamp the image on the front panel piece. Next, ink the rectangular swatch stamp with Weeping Willow and spray a bit of water on the stamp. Now stamp this under the round image to create the stand for the snow globe.
Step 3: Next, heat emboss one of the sentiments from the Sketched Snowmen stamp set on the base of the snow globe with white embossing powder.
Step 4: Heat emboss a couple of snowflakes on the snow globe with Bridal Tinsel embossing powder.
Step 5: On a separate piece of white card stock, stamp one of the snowmen from the Sketched Snowman stamp set with Jet Black archival ink. Then, heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
Step 6: To color the snowman image, use Clear Skies, Piggyback, Guppy, and Woof! inks. Then use Tropical Tango and Rosy Cheeks inks to color the snowman’s hat and scarf.
Step 7: Use the coordinating dies from the Sketched Snowmen stamp set to die cut the image. Die cut extras and glue them together for dimension.
Step 8: To give extra sparkle to the snowman, user your finger to rub a bit of Frostbite Astro Paste on the image.
Step 9: On the snow globe image, add glue on the bottom of the snow globe and add Clear Rock Candy glitter to make it look like snow. Then, outline the circle with Stardust Stickles. For the rectangular image (or base of the snow globe) use Brass Liquid Pearls to outline the image.
Step 10: Glue the snowman image on the round stamped image, then add extra Stardust Stickles on the background.
Step 11: Next, glue the front panel piece onto the card base. Now, all that is left is to pair the card with a complimentary envelope. Now it’s ready to be sent to a loved one this Christmas season!
