Instructions

Hi crafty friends! Today I have another fun card tutorial featuring Simon Hurley’s new stamp and die set called Silly Goose. This stamp set has the most adorable geese images you have ever seen! This set is perfect to celebrate any occasion, especially birthdays. I truly enjoyed making today’s card, and I hope it gives you inspiration to do something fun and creative today!

Step 1: Begin by creating an A2 card base out of Stark White card stock by trimming an 8½” x 11” piece of cardstock at 5 ½” and then scoring it at 4 ¼”. Next, trim the front panel piece out of Stark White cardstock measuring 5¼” x 4”.

Step 2: Next, use low tack tape to cover part of the front panel piece. Then, ink blend the uncovered part with Sidewalk Chalk, Piggyback, and Rosy Cheeks inks.

Step 3: Leaving the low tack tape on, use the Emboss It Clear inkpad to ink the Confetti background stamp. Leave stamp on the clear sheet it comes with and use it to pick up the background stamp to stamp the images on the inked front panel piece. Use a brayer to apply pressure. Then, heat emboss with Clear embossing ink.

Step 4: Still leave the tape on the front panel piece. Ink the heat embossed area with Prom Queen ink.

Step 5: Next, remove tape and now place it on the inked/heat embossed background. Ink the rest of the front panel piece with Minty Fresh ink.

Step 6: On a separate piece of card stock, stamp two geese images with Jet Black archival ink. Then, heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Step 7: Next, use brushes to color the images. For the cake use Cookie Dough and Sidewalk Chalk inks. For the geese, use Guppy for the feet and beak, for the hat and candles use Triple Berry. For the balloon, use the coordinating stamp to ink with Sidewalk Chalk. For the flame on the candles use Slippery When Wet ink.

Step 8: Die cut the images using the coordinating dies. Die cut extras then glue them together for dimension.

Step 9: Heat emboss one of the sentiments from the Silly Goose stamp set on Tim Holtz Distress Black Heavystock using White super fine detail embossing powder. Then, trim the sentiment to fit the card.

Step 10: Glue front panel piece onto the card base as well as the sentiment and die cut pieces. Then, use Glossy accents on the balloon, candles, and on the beaks and feet of the geese. Also, add some Stardust Stickles in the background to add more shine.

Step 11: Next, pair the card with a complimentary envelope. Now it’s ready to be sent to a loved one!
