Instructions

Hi there! It’s Cheiron Brandon and I am back with another fun tutorial using Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink. Today I am using Alcohol Ink through stencils on my Gel Plate to create a fun look with the Tim Holtz Wheel Stencil to create an abstract rainbow sky card with an inspiring sentiment that is fun for summer and even a perfect card for a graduation.

Step 1: Gather up your supplies. I used Alcohol Inks in Raspberry, Valencia, Lemonade, Patina and Amethyst. I also used a Gel Plate, Yupo Paper and some Small Talk Stickers and Metallic Kraft Stock to finish my card.

Step 2: Add the Alcohol Inks to the Gel Plate in a Rainbow Pattern.

Step 3: Press the yupo paper lightly onto the Gel Plate just above where the ink ends. Let dry for about 10 minutes. *The plate may stain, that is normal. It will not affect the plate performance**

Step 4: Pull the yupo off the plate and make sure it is dry.

Step 5: Add some blending solution to your glass mat.

Step 6: Splatter over your panel to move the ink and add more interest to your piece. Dry with a heat tool to keep from spreading.

Step 7: Add some foundry wax mixed with a few drops of Isopropyl Alcohol to your glass mat and spatter over the panel. Dry with heat tool until wax turns shiny.

Step 8: Adhere the small talk strip to a piece of metallic kraft stock and trim so there is a thin border around your sentiment.

Step 9: Add some foam tape behind the sentiment.

Step 10: Adhere the sentiment to the card.

Step 11: Cut some stars out of the Metallic Kraft Stock and adhere to card.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and will try experimenting with Alcohol Inks on a gel plate.
