Hello crafty friends! It’s Cheiron Brandon and I am thrilled to be back here at Ranger this month to share a fun project with you. It’s always exciting to have some new Distress products, especially new colors of Distress Embossing Glaze. I wanted to play around with some color combos using these new colors of Distress Embossing Glazes and created a set of simple notecards to experiment with these new colors and play with some fun combos. The new colors are: Abandoned Coral, Mowed Lawn, Pumice Stone, Spiced Marmalade, Crushed Olive, Seedless Preserves, Aged Mahogany, Squeezed Lemon, Bundled Sage, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, and Chipped Sapphire.
Step 1: Gather supplies. I used a different set of stamps for each color combo including Carved Halloween, Sea Life, Winter Watercolor, Leaf Prints, Noteworthy and Brushstrokes. I also used Distress Watercolor CardStock, Black Soot Archival Ink and Embossing Ink.
Step 2: For each notecard panel, select an image and stamp it in Black Soot Archival Ink onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock and then dry with a heat tool.
Step 3: Begin stamping the Brushstroke stamp over each image using Embossing Ink and adding a color of Distress Embossing Glaze on top, then heat embossing it. I started with the middle of the image, so I was able center the other two stamps more easily.
Step 4: Repeat the stamping with Embossing Ink, slightly overlapping the first stamped image on the top and then adding a second color of Distress Embossing Glaze.
Step 5: Repeat the stamping one more time with Distress Embossing Ink, slightly overlapping the first stamped image on the bottom and then adding a third color of Distress Embossing Glaze.
Step 6: The color combos for each card are: Mowed Lawn, Abandoned Coral, and Pumice Stone (for the Christmas card) Crushed Olive, Spiced Marmalade, Seedless Preserves (for the Halloween Card) Bundled Sage, Squeezed Lemonade and Aged Mahogany (for the fall card) and Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire (for the Sea Life card).
Add foam tape to the back of these panels to add some additional dimension and adhere them to a notecard.
Step 7: Stamp the sentiments onto black cardstock using Embossing Ink and then emboss with White Embossing Powder.
Step 8: Add the sentiment strips to each card.
I hope you enjoyed seeing some of these new Distress Embossing Glaze colors in action. I can’t wait to see what color combos all of you come up with!
