Hi there, Crafty Friends! It’s Cheiron Brandon here and today I have a fun card for you featuring the newest color in the Distress line, Kitsch Flamingo. I have been playing around with this color and tried SO many color combinations with it. I also love that when you apply the Kitsch Flamingo Distress Embossing Glaze over the ink, you get a bright pink that is like no other pink color I have ever worked with.
For my card today, I am going to keep it simple with a color combination of Kitsch Flamingo, black and gold, giving the card a few different textures for some added interest. Let’s get all the parts and textures of the card made, and save the assembly for last.
Step 1: Cut out two of the Perspective Butterfly die – one from of Distress Mixed Media Heavyweight White Cardstock and one from Gold Metallic Kraft Stock.
Step 2: Spray the white butterfly with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Spray Stain (use a Splat Box so you don’t get spray everywhere!). Let dry or dry with a heat tool.
Step 3: Apply Embossing Ink directly to the pink butterfly, then emboss with the Kitsch Flamingo Distress Embossing Glaze. Set aside.
Step 4: Emboss the panel of Black Alcohol Ink Cardstock with the Intertwined 3D Texture Fade by running it through your die cut machine. Make sure to read the instructions specific to your machine when using 3D folders.
Step 5: Using a paintbrush, splatter some of the Tarnished Brass Distress Mica Spray onto the panel. Remember to shake your Mica Spray well before using!
Step 6: Adhere the black panel to a white card base using foam tape. Then adhere the pink butterfly on top of the gold butterfly, offsetting slightly so the gold peeks through.
Step 7: Adhere the butterfly to the card using Distress Collage Medium. The bottle with the detail tip works best for this.
Step 8: Add a sentiment sticker to the card.
I hope you will try creating this textured card with Kitsch Flamingo and seeing how the Distress Embossing Glaze works to make the pink color even MORE pink!
