MAKE ART Vintage Floral Card by Laura Volpes

Laura Volpes shares a vintage floral card tutorial combining Wendy Vecchi MAKE Art products and Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

Instructions

Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Floral Card Step 1

Step 1: Stamp and color the images from the Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Thank You Stamp, Die and Stencil Set, using your favorite coloring medium. In this case, alcohol markers were used. Once the coloring is over, use the coordinating dies to die cut the images.

Step 2: Trim Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock to 4 by 5.25 inches. Create a background using the ink-smooshing technique and Distress Inks: press the ink pad on an acetate sheet, activate the ink with some water, and press the acetate sheet on your card panel to transfer the ink.

Step 3: Repeat the steps above using different Distress Ink colors, drying between layers. The inks used on this card are Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey. Create droplets with a paintbrush for added interest.

Step 6: Arrange the flowers on the front panel and glue them down. To create a vintage look, lightly blend Distress Inks in Wild Honey and Vintage Photo on the edges of the panel and of the images.

Step 7: Glue the front panel to the background. Heat emboss the sentiment with white embossing powder over a strip of watercolor cardstock. Blend Distress Inks in Vintage Photo and Wild Honey over the sentiment strip to add color.

Finish off the card by adhering the sentiment strip on the card front. Use the Wendy Vecchi 7” Make Art Stay-tion and the Magnetic Acrylic Ruler to get the perfect alignment!
