Instructions

Step 1: Cut a 4 ¼ inch by 5 ¾ inch piece of Dina Wakley Media Cotton Watercolor Paper. Press the Cornflower Blue MAKE ART Blendable Dye Ink pad onto your media mat and spritz with a little water. Dip the Watercolor Paper into the diluted ink until most of the surface is covered.

Step 2: While the Watercolor Paper is still wet press the Bluebird MAKE ART Blendable Dye Ink pad onto your media mat. Spritz with a little water as before and dip the paper into the diluted ink, picking up some of the color so it blends with the Cornflower Blue Dye Ink.

Step 3: Again, while the Watercolor Paper is still wet press the Acorn MAKE ART Blendable Dye Ink pad onto your media mat. Spritz with a little water as before and dip the paper into the diluted ink, picking up just a little of the color so it blends with the blue Dye Inks.

Step 4: Having allowed the inks time to air dry completely stamp the All Cracked Up background onto the Watercolor Paper using the Acorn MAKE ART Blendable Dye Ink. You may need to repeat this process on the textured surface so I recommend using a Stamp Platform.

Step 5: Tear away the edges of the Watercolor Paper around the stamped background, revealing the white core of the paper. Add a few randomly placed dots of Dina Wakley Media White Gesso onto the Watercolor Paper and use a spatula to scrape them across it.

Step 6: On a new piece of Dina Wakley Media Cotton Watercolor Paper stamp the flower section from the Special Art stamp set four times using Jet Black Archival Ink. Again you may wish to use a Stamp Platform to do this several times as the paper has an uneven surface.

Step 7: Press the Red Geranium MAKE ART Blendable Dye Ink pad onto your media mat and spritz with a little water. Using a fine paint brush color three of the flowers with the diluted ink, leaving the outer edges of each petal white. Dry and reapply the ink to strengthen the color.

Step 8: Press the Leaf Green MAKE ART Blendable Dye Ink pad onto your media mat and spritz with a little water. Using a fine paint brush color three of the leaves and two fronds with the diluted ink leaving a little white as before. Dry and reapply the ink to strengthen the color.

Step 9: Cut around the flowers and leaves when dry. You will need a complete flower, a flower with a leaf attached, the center of another flower, a separated frond and a single leaf. Draw in each of the stamens on the flowers with a White Dylusions Paint Pen to highlight them.

Step 10: Stamp the circular wreath shape from the Special Art stamp set several times onto the Kraft Cardstock using Jet Black Archival Ink. Cut around the circles on the inside and outside, removing the flower and leaf elements to create a ring on which to mount the layered flower.

Step 11: Glue the Kraft Cardstock rings on top of each other with Distress Collage Medium, matching the layers. Blend Acorn MAKE ART Blendable Dye Ink around the edges using the Mini Blending Tool. Use the White Dylusions Paint Pen to add highlights to the top layer of the ring.

Step 12: Wrap Burlap String around the Kraft Cardstock ring. Having shaped them with a ball tool, layer up the flower petals, leaves and fronds with the adhesive foam to create one dimensional flower. Glue the flower onto the ring with Distress Collage Medium, matching up the design.

To finish stick the Watercolor Paper background to a piece of Gold Metallic Kraftstock measuring 4 inches by 5 ¼ inches. Stitch around the edge or draw black stitch lines with a pen. Stamp the Never Forget sentiment from the Special Art stamp set onto the background with Jet Black Archival Ink. Mount background onto a Wendy Vecchi Perfect Cardstock Portrait Card then glue the kraft wreath and flower onto the center with Distress Collage Medium. Add a tiny dot of White Gesso into the center of the flower.
