Instructions
Creating a custom window card with stunning results is easy with Simon Hurley’s Window Maker Stencil.
Step 1: Line up a card front created from Specialty Stamping Paper on Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART STAY-tion. Use the magnetic ruler on the STAY-tion to secure the Window Maker Stencil and card front.
Step 2: Use scrap pieces of paper on the stencil over the areas you are not inking. This will act as a mask, so you do not accidently shade in other images.
Step 3: Use a Mini Ink Blending Tool with Foam and Simon Hurley’s Sike! Ink Pad to shade the window.
Step 4: Repeat the process with the next image until the window is complete.
Step 5: Once the window is created, carefully shade the rest of the card with Piggyback and a Blending Tool.
Step 6: To create the bricks mask off areas you do not want shaded. Blend Crown Me into bricks. Move the stencil over three of the colored bricks in to shade in the next area of bricks. If any ink accidently gets on another shaded area use a moist Q-tip and gently rub off.
Step 7: Set card front aside to dry. Blend Tropical Tango into a folded card base to create a frame for the window.
Step 8: As card base dries, stamp paws and tail from “Puppy Puns” on window. Trace over window with a white pen and ink the edges.
Step 9: Stamp puppy head from Puppy Puns Stamp set in Jet Black Archival Ink. Color in with coloring medium of choice and cut out. Adhere puppy head with adhesive foam in window above paws and stamp “Thank You” below. Adhere to card base.
