Instructions
Step 1: Apply Distress Oxide Inks directly to Craft Sheet, spritz with water until ringlets form.
Step 2: Swipe Heavyweight Mixed Media Cardstock through the ink, slowly spray water droplets over ink with Distress Sprayer and dry with a heat tool. Repeat to create beautiful layers of ink always drying between layers.
Step 3: Spray the back of the Trellis Layering Stencil with water using the Distress Sprayer and wipe off the edges of the stencil with a dry towel. Place Layering Stencil on background, blot with a towel, carefully remove Layering Stencil wait a few seconds for the ink to react and blot off water. Repeat if desired and dry with a Heat it Tool.
Step 4: Ink through Cargo Layering Stencil with an Ink Blending Tool using Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. Stamp Ledger Script with Hickory Smoke Distress Archival Ink randomly over background. (Make a DIY Archival Ink Pad using a Hickory Smoke Archival reinker.)
Step 5: Ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink using an Ink Blending Tool.
Step 6: Add a little texture in the background using a Distress Spritzer with Hickory Smoke Distress Marker. Optional: Sew around the edge of the card if desired.
Step 7: Try different color combinations for fun.
Step 8: Die cut Wildflower #2 Thinlits Set from Black Cardstock and adhere to card with Collage Medium.
Step 9: Adhere background to black mat, tie thin jute string around layers and adhere to card.
Step 10: Cut a strip 3/4” x 5” using Textile Surfaces then die cut message using the Sentiments Thinlits Set and a Vagabond. Cut a 7/8” x 5” strip the same color as the base card then adhere the sentiment to strip.
Step 11: Punch butterflies from one of the colored pieces, Ink the edges and body with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.
Step 12: Add sentiment to cards with foam tape and trim excess with scissors.
